B&B De Notelaar – Nederzwalm
Are you looking for biking, hiking, being outside? You love nature, culture, history or nice restaurants? All this you can find at ‘De Notelaar’.
The Land house
The smoke free land house is renovated in local country style, and is part of an old farm site dating from the beginning of last century. It is surrounded by agricultural land.
The large garden ends in a nature area with a 17th century watermill; known as de Vanderlindens molen. In the center of our garden, a majestic nut tree tells from long forgotten years.
The Rooms
At the attic, we created 2 spacious guest rooms, ensuite and non-smoking.
The rooms are equipped with a double bed and a living room, each offering place for two to four persons.
The sofa can be converted to double bed, or we can add a third bed or cradle.
Each room has independently controlled heating, the modern bathrooms have a shower.
Breakfast
In the morning, a nice, healthy (and where available biological) breakfast is awaiting you. If the weather permits, we serve you outside.
Hiking and Biking
You want to hike, bike or just enjoy the scenery ? Touristic maps and information are at your disposal.
The Neighborhood
Have you visited the region of the river Zwalm ?
You can enjoy the hills and valleys, fields and woods, hear the creeks and rivers.
Discover the past of the seven watermills.
Drive through the small villages with their typical squares...
Enjoy the many local recipes and drinks. All of this in the quiet and cozy area of the Zwalm.

The Watermills
The watermills are witnesses of our hand-made and industrial archeology. Zwalm can rightfully be proud with its seven watermills, of which four on the river Zwalm itself. You will be fascinated by tumbling water, the endless whispering and movement, by the mystery of its complex mechanics. Behind our garden, you'll find the 'Vanderlindensmolen' on the river 'Peerdestokbeek', hidden in the brush. It once served as laundry mill and cotton bleaching.

De ontvangst was bijzonder hartelijk en warm. Bart en Els hebben ons alles verteld wat we moesten weten om onze uitstappen goed te doen verlopen. Op zondag heb ik vooral genoten van het gezellige ontbijt met alles erop en er aan tijdens een gemoedelijk gesprek met de andere logés. We hopen er nog eens te logeren.

Een ontdekking waar je vanaf de eerste minuut thuis voelt en het volste vertrouwen krijgt van de eigenaars.
Je voelt je na 15 minuten ' een vriend des huize'.

gastvrije en persoonlijke ontvangst, met aperitief of biertje;
als gast deel je in het leven van de gastheer en -vrouw;
verzorgde piekfijne kamer met ruime badkamer;
uiterst verzorgd ontbijt met bio-producten en zelf gemaakte 'alternatieve' confituren, en, samen aan tafel!
optimale ligging: rustig maar toeristisch toch ontsloten (horeca, wandel- en fietsnetwerk, verbindingsweg in de omgeving (richting Oudenaarde-Zottegem)
uitzicht in oostelijke richting over de velden tot St-Denijs-Boekel;
verbouwingswerken in aangrenzende ruimte gaan 'in alle stilte' verder (dus geen last van);
er zit nog steeds meer potentie in de B&B eens alles gerealiseerd!

Rustig gelegen B&B midden in het parcours van de Ronde van Vlaanderen. Na onze fietstocht een verfrissende duik genomen in de zwemvijver en genoten van een lokaal biertje op het terras in de grote tuin. Na een uitgebreid bio-ontbijt hebben we nog een prachtige wandeling gemaakt op aanraden van Bart en Els die steeds klaarstaan met leuke tips en advies.Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Onze algemene vergadering van onze lokale natuurpunt afdeling ging door in De Notelaar dit jaar. Bart gaf een rondleiding langsheen de trage wegen in de buurt, en daarna konden we genieten van een warme ontvangst, met heerlijke zelfgemaakte pizza's, lekker koel muntwater en heerlijke biertjes.
Een topavond, vergaderen voelde helemaal niet als vergaderen. Bedankt!
