Quintassential – Loule
The Quintassential is an oasis of peace and tranquillity perched high on a hilltop 1200 feet above sea level totally fenced and accessed via electric gates overlooking the market town of Loule, only 10 minutes from the blue flag beaches of the Algarve and world famous golf courses and a 15 minute drive from Faro International airport. The Quintassential Self Catering Holiday Apartment Cottages are a small family run cluster of self catering holiday accommodations catering for couples, families and the over 50’s. The accommodations are fully licensed meeting to all requirements by the Portuguese rental law with the required Alojamento Local licence (AL). Loule has everything one would need from a holiday with endless restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, banks, shops, award winning traditional vegetable, fish & vegetable market, famous gypsy market, historical buildings etc. There are also two restaurants within reasonable walking distance of the Quintassential.
The Quintassential is open all year round so that guests can enjoy the 3000 hours of sunshine the Algarve has to offer. We understand that with low cost airlines it may be better to travel on days other than Sunday or Thursday, so we are flexible with our arrival and departure days. Our minimum booking is for three nights.
The cottages are individual at the Quintassential, originally dating back to the 19th century that was once a farmhouse and over the years has been thoughtfully converted to provide picturesque holiday accommodations. One of the accommodations is occupied by the owners who are there to help, but never infringe on your privacy. Our rustic home from home accommodations are furnished equipped and decorated to a very high standard, with great attention to detail visible in all the accommodations together with little personal touches resulting in good value for money special holiday lets and varied to suit all age groups. All the accommodations are south facing and all have sea views, have their own separate entrances, own kitchens, private south-facing sun terraces and BBQ areas. In all the accommodations there are a selection of puzzles, chess set, dominos, playing cards and a vast selection of English reading books. No group bookings are accepted to ensure that all guests have a truly relaxing and peaceful holiday. There is also free Wi-Fi Internet access available with hotspots within the Quintassential for guests staying.
Outside The Quintassential is blessed with panoramic sea views and spectacular countryside views, just what you need for a tranquil and relaxing holiday. The gardens at Quintassential, just over an acre, are marvelous and are a flower, shrub and fruit tree haven of peace and tranquility where you can always find a quiet area to read a book, relax and unwind. Added with the breathtaking views of the Algarve coastline by both day and night, this gives location oodles of character, uniqueness and creates a warm friendly relaxing atmosphere for our guests. If you are looking for a quiet, tranquil retreat away from it all, but close to all local amenities, The Quintassential is perfect and is an ideal base to explore the Algarve whatever your age group.
The Quintassential has a large heated pool area; the pool measures 10 x 5 m and sun loungers, parasols etc are provided for the use of the guests. There is also a large raised sun deck poolside to soak up the glorious sun and a freestanding hot tub spa jacuzzi for guest use, especially nice under the stars and moonlight. The pool is heated during the cooler months from 1st October until 30th November and then again from 1st March until 30th April and there is no additional charge for heating the pool.
Children are welcome at the Quintassential and there is a children’s play area with swings, slide, and seesaw all alongside an orange grove. For those guests that are a little more energetic, there is also an outdoor games area with a professional size table tennis table and a 12ft trampoline. For families travelling with small children, we can provide a whole host of baby equipment free of charge, being parents ourselves, we know what it is like travelling with little ones, and our aim is make everyone’s holiday an enjoyable memorable experience, not stressful.
On arrival at the Quintassential the owners will meet you and awaiting your arrival in your accommodation will be a welcome hamper, compliments of the house for guest staying a week or more. For guest staying less than a week, this can be arranged for an additional charge of £15.00 GBP. For all our adult guests bathrobes are provided for use during your stay. Pool towels are also provided for the use of our guests, but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels or these can be hired from us, and in all the accommodations there is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
For an additional charge we can also arrange a pre-arrival shopping service, champagne and strawberries, baby welcome hamper, baby sitting services, spa treatments, take away meal service, beach towel hire and a laundry service. Further information on our website.
We can also arrange varied activities whilst holidaying at the Quintassential. We can arrange dolphin watching tours with a local nature company. Jeep safari tours can also be arranged where you are picked up at the Quintassential and enabling you explore the inland Algarve. For those who wish to walk the Algarve, we can arrange guided walks, half day, full day or even walking holiday weeks. The Casa do Forno Cottage is the most characteristic of all the accommodations at The Quintassential, a one bedroom rustic duplex cottage tastefully decorated and boasting many original features from the old Quinta (farmhouse).
The Casa do Forno has simple traditional Algarvian style décor, featuring white washed walls and accent coloured walls, sloping cane ceilings with timber beams and many hand painted wall plates hanging around the cottage, all adding to the ambiance of the real Algarve. The Casa do Forno Cottage is rich in style and character with wonderful Algarvian charismatic furniture all adding to its magic. This is very much a rustic cottage with modern comforts. Being part of the original farmhouse with its high sloping ceilings, this cottage is always cool in the summer and warm in winter. This cottage is a real quaint oasis for adults, the ultimate peaceful and tranquil accommodation.
The bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, sloping cane ceilings with wooden beams. The bedroom is decorated in soothing pastel colours of aqua and peach. There is also a free standing fan in the bedroom. Immediately next to the bedroom there is a large alcove area with further storage/shelves and a safe deposit box.
The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a tiled seating area within it, sink with vanity unit under, WC and marble flooring. The "crows nest" TV lounge area has a sloping cane ceiling with wooden beams and has spectacular views, a mini Hi-Fi stereo with radio/CD player and MP3 reader (guests to bring own CD’s). There is a comfy leather sofa suite with leather footstool and a 19-inch LG LCD flatscreen TV with UK free to view Satellite TV channels and a DVD player with a small selection of DVD’s for guest use. There are a selection of puzzles, chess set, playing cards, dominos and a vast selection of English reading books. This accommodations houses over 100 English reading books. The Crow’s Nest TV lounge is accessed by the original rustic stone stairs. For guests with walking difficulties to be aware of the rustic staircase.
The kitchen dining area has the original bread oven dating back to the 19th century and stone sink from the Quinta and also the original cane ceiling with wooden beams. The rustic kitchen comes fully equipped and comprises of a large fridge/freezer, combi microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, coffee filter machine, hand held electric blender and gas hob. There is a marvelous antique pine dresser dressed with traditional Algarvian pottery plates, bowls etc for your use during your stay. The Algarvian mosaic tile topped dining table comfortably seats two people on traditional hand painted Portuguese chairs, these are a dream to look at, the craftsmanship is amazing. From the kitchen dining area there are doors leading on to a completely private south-facing terrace with brick built BBQ, table and chairs and reclining chairs for al fresco dining and for those lazy days and evenings comfy cushioned seating under the covered terrace.
There is also a wood burning stove for the cooler winter evenings that really makes this cottage very cosy and provides 24/7 heating during the winter months along with an eco wall heater in the kitchen diner and an oil filled radiator in the bedroom.
The Casa do Forno Cottage also has its own private garden with your own private sun loungers and parasol which is for the sole use of the guests in the Casa do Forno Cottage and within this garden area there is a further seating area surrounded by an abundance of beautiful flowers, shrubs and many various species of cacti. There is also a large covered terrace with a cane ceiling and wooden beams now with comfy cushioned seating for added comfort. Colourful Morning Glory drapes the exterior. Outside there is also al fresco dining table, cushioned chairs, parasol and reclining chairs. From the Casa do Forno Cottage terrace you will experience some of the best sunsets the Algarve has to offer.
The Casa do Forno Cottage sleeps a maximum of 2 adults
The Lemon Cottage is one of the newer accommodations available, a peaceful relaxing hideaway and a mirror image of the Carob Cottage also available at the Quintassential; both are light and airy one bedroom apartment cottages. These two apartment cottages are ideal for couples or families with a small child.
The bedroom is large a double bed and is also large enough to accommodate a child’s single sofa chair or cot. There is a digital security safe, sloping ceilings & patio doors leading on to the south-facing sun terrace. The bedroom is tastefully decorated to very high standard and has a beautiful throw and crisp bed linen to compliment the décor. The bedroom also has a free standing fan and a 21 inch TV with DVD player and video player (small selection of videos available).
The Lemon Cottage has a modern bathroom with shower, washbasin with vanity unit under, WC, bidet and shaver point.
The spacious open plan kitchen lounge/diner is decorated tastefully and has a comfy leather sofa and is simple yet lacks nothing. The lounge has a LG 32 inch LCD TV, Satellite TV (UK free to view channels), DVD player (small selection of DVDs available) and mini Hi-Fi radio/CD player with MP3 reader (guests to bring own CD’s). There is a vast selection of English reading books, puzzles, chess set and playing cards. There are patio doors leading onto a private south-facing terrace with table and chairs, reclining chairs and your own brick built BBQ and its own lemon tree to give you added shade.
The kitchenette is modern and comes fully equipped and comprises of fridge with freezer compartment, combi microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, coffee filter machine, hand held electric blender and electric hob.
The Lemon Cottage also has the added benefit of gas central heating for those cooler winter months. The price for the heating is already included in the tariff. Details of the set heating times will be provided at the time of booking enquiry.
The Lemon Cottage sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and a child
The Carob Cottage is one of the newer apartment cottages available and the sunniest of the 4 accommodations available and is a peaceful relaxing hideaway. The Carob Cottage is a light and airy one bedroom apartment cottage ideal for couples or families with a small child.
The bedroom is large with a double bed, and is also large enough to accommodate a child’s single sofa bed or cot. There is a digital security safe, sloping ceilings & patio doors leading on to the south-facing sun terrace. The bedroom is tastefully decorated to very high standard in vibrant colours, beautiful throw and crisp bed linen to compliment the décor. The bedroom also has a free standing fan and a 19 inch Toshiba LCD TV with DVD player.
The Carob Cottage has a modern bathroom with shower, washbasin with vanity unit under, bidet, WC and shaver point.
The spacious open plan kitchen lounge/diner is decorated tastefully and has a large comfy leather sofa and is simple yet lacks nothing. The lounge has a 32 inch Samsung flat screen LCD TV Satellite TV (UK free to view channels), DVD player (small selection of DVDs available) and a mini stereo Hi-Fi with radio/CD player and MP3 reader (guests to bring own CD’s). There is a large selection of English reading books, puzzles, chess set and playing cards. There are patio doors leading onto a private south-facing terrace with a table and chairs, reclining chairs and your own brick built BBQ. You will easily enjoy the sun on this terrace into late evening.

The Carob Cottage sleeps a maximum of two adults and a child.
The Orange Cottage is the largest of the accommodations available at Quintassential, a large two bedroom apartment cottage decorated in traditional Algarvian decor with white washed walls, which is rich in charm, style, rustic yet with modern comforts. Being part of the original farmhouse with its high sloping ceilings, this cottage is always cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This cottage is a real home from home and lacks nothing.
The open plan kitchen/diner has a fully fitted modern kitchen with electric oven and vitro-ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle, coffee filter machine, hand held electric blender and toaster. There are also double doors leading onto the sun terrace. There is a glass dining table comfortably seating four on luxury leather dining seats.
The Lounge is tastefully decorated with a leather 3 piece suite, 36 inch widescreen TV, Satellite TV (UK free to view channels), DVD player (small selection of DVD’s available) and radio/CD player (guests to bring own CD’s), Logitech iPod speaker doc (battery operated guests to provide batteries), a selection of English reading books, puzzles, chess set, playing card, and the Orange Cottage boasts an original 19th century fireplace that now houses the wood-burning stove – wonderful for those cooler winter evenings. The Orange Cottage also provides during the winter months 24/7 heating as there are also an additional four eco wall heaters.
Double doors lead onto the very large south-facing private terrace with its own table and chairs comfortably seating four people, reclining chairs and a brick built BBQ area. There is also a large covered terrace with a cane ceiling and wooden beams for al-fresco dining. Under the terrace there are further cushioned seats to relax, unwind and keep cool from the sun. Vibrant bougainvillea, Jasmin and Hibiscus drape the exterior, and there are rock gardens and pot plants sprinkled all around, with shrubs, palms, and fruit trees all producing an air of peaceful tranquility.
The bathroom has a new double walk-in shower, washbasin with vanity unit under and blue marble top, WC, bidet, shaver point and a sloping wooden ceiling.
The Orange Cottage bedrooms consist of one bedroom with a double bed with colour co-ordinated soft furnishing in a vibrant Mediterranean yellow and Algarvian blue and the other bedroom with twin beds has colour co-ordinated soft furnishings in calming soothing lilac. The twin bedroom is large enough to accommodate a travel cot if required. Both bedrooms are tastefully decorated to high standards, have beautiful throws and crisp bed linen to compliment the décor and have sloping wooden ceilings. Both bedrooms have free standing fans available.
The Orange Cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 adults and an infant.

Prices for our one bedroom accommodations range from £365.00 GBP per week to £505.00 GBP per week for a two person occupation.
Prices for our two bedroom accommodation range from £450.00 GBP per week to £890.00 GBP for a maximum four person occupation.
Children under the age of two stay for free and we can provide free baby equipment.
Prices during October, November, March and April include pool heating.
Prices from 1st November until 31st March include 24/7 heating in our Casa do Forno & Orange Cottage with eco wall heaters and a wood burning stove. For our Lemon and Carob Cottage there is gas central heating with set heating times.
During the winter months we provide a winter warmer special that includes car hire and much more, please ask for further information.
