Two kilometers past the village of Alcaucín, northeast of Malaga, the road ends, and you feel like you're at the edge of the world. In this unique location , at the foot of Maroma – the highest mountain in the province of Malaga – Boutique B&B El Refugio offers an ideal combination of tranquility, nature, and luxury, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

El Refugio offers four charming rooms with private entrances, including two comfort rooms and two spacious suites. All rooms, with en suite bathrooms, are modern and meticulously furnished, and feature all the amenities you need during your stay.

At El Refugio, you can enjoy your holiday at your own pace. Start your day with a fresh breakfast (featuring homemade products, among other things) on the patio, gazing at the endless view. Enjoy tapas or a light lunch by the pool, and discover local flavors. We regularly treat our guests to a delicious three-course dinner, which you can join in on. And the honesty bar is always available for that refreshing drink. The village, a 5-minute drive away, and the surrounding area offer a wide variety of restaurants, from traditional Spanish to Indian cuisine. We're happy to share some great tips.

Numerous hikes , including "El Saltillo" with its spectacular suspension bridge (also known as the little brother of the "Caminito del Rey"), are located nearby. Or cycle directly from El Refugio into the Sierra de Tejeda Natural Park on your electric mountain bike and enjoy the stunning views.

But if you want to do absolutely nothing, the beautiful and spacious garden with swimming pool is the perfect place to unwind. Everything here revolves around slowing down and enjoying nature. Look around and dream away at the stunning views of the mountains, Lake Viñuela, and the olive trees. Or just relax in the hammock and finally start reading that book.

Nearby lie authentic white villages such as Canillas de Aceituno, Comares, Nerja, Frigiliana, and Mijas. For a cultural excursion, several royal cities , such as Málaga and Granada (or even Córdoba), are within easy reach for a day trip full of history and charm.
