De Libellen van Waaroost – Waardamme
The Dragonflies of Waaroost, an enchanting mansion located in the park “the Waaroostpark” at Waardamme was recreated into a stylish Bed and Breakfast complete with SPA by Marianne Van Gheluwe and Peter Labens.
All areas were upgraded to be packed with modern comforts, without however losing the well known rich country style of architect Quackelbeen.
You can enjoy the peace and quiet and the spa treatments of the underground hammam.
The Dragonflies of Waaroost, pure luxury, calling to all senses, invigorating for body and soul.
A refreshing night’s sleep, a luxurious breakfast, relaxing in the private sauna and steam rooms, dreaming away in the jacuzzi ... everything is possible.
You will also find an infrared corner, a fitness room and a large traditional hammam with a classical slab to relax on. The hammam ritual has been around for 800 years, finding its origin in the bathing culture of Istanbul and Central Anatolia. The hammam experience gets its obvious finale with Turkish tea and sweets.
Every season has its pureness and own character. In summer you lounge near the open air pool, in autumn you stroll amidst the high beeches and the lovely natural garden, in winter you savour a good bottle of wine in the caves of the mansion and in spring you hear the herbs grow in the greenhouses. In short this is a welcoming haven to be enjoyed in any season.
Why the name “Dragonflies of Waaroost”?
Two majestic dragonflies by the hand of artist Kristof Verkouille can be found in the mansion’s garden, adorning the green roof of the spa building, looking out on the natural pond. They clearly feel at home and relish in the hot wholesome fumes rising from the hammam. Dragonflies are of all times and all seasons. Whether it is a Broad Scarlet, a Four Spotted Chaser or the Hairy Dragonfly, everyone has its favourite season. So do you, don’t you?
