Pension 't Huys Grol – Renesse
The Bed & Breakfast house Grol is an old mansion. It is situated at the inner border of the coastal dunes of the island of Schouwen in the South-west part of Holland (province of Zeeland). The former estate Grol is situated very close to the centre of the lively village of Renesse. The old mansion Grol was originally founded in 1599. It was rebuilt several times. Its present appearance dates back to 1870. The mansion is beautifully restored as a national trust monument in the past decade. The Bed- & Breakfast house Grol is rewarded several times as one of the most outstanding characteristic Dutch bed- en breakfast houses.
A lovely English garden of 3000 m² surrounds the house. There is a spacious lawn with comfortable seats and sun beds. Cosy seats invite you for a place in the sun or in the shadow of the trees. There is a large pond with a number of indigenous fish species, ducks and waterfowl. A big fountain which is illuminated at night contributes to the calm and relaxed atmosphere. Part of the garden dates back to medieval times and hosts plant species characteristic for castles and manor houses like the abundant Blue bells. The Isle of SCHOUWEN is the sunniest part of the Netherlands which will allow you often in summertime to have your breakfast served in the garden. A separate part of the garden supplies you with free parking facilities.
The guest-rooms are spacious and are equipped with authentic furniture. We have five rooms with a double bed, and one with two single beds. We also have one single room with one single bed. Each guestroom has cable-television, a free safe and free facilities for making coffee and tea and a refrigerator. Each guestroom has its own luxury bathroom with shower and toilet. In addition two bathrooms have a whirlpool. In your bathroom you will find a hair-dryer and a heated towel-radiator to enhance your comfort. Breakfast is served as room-service or will be served in the garden or veranda on your request.

All rooms are equipped with shower and toilet, hair-dryer, cable television, safe, Senseo Coffeemachine (coffee pads are included in the price), waterkettle and refrigerator. The Panorama Room and the Garden Room also have a whirlpool. Towels are also included, and will be exchanged daily if desired.

- Peak season surcharge: € 5,- per person per night in July and August and during Public Holidays.
- Surcharge for 1 or 2 nights: € 5,- per person per night. Reservations for 1 or 2 nights are only possible if your reservation suits us.
- Breakfast
Your breakfast, with freshly squeezed orange juice, will be served in your room. You can choose what time you would like your breakfast (between 8:30 am and 10:00 am). We will bring your breakfast to your room, we will knock on your door and leave the breakfast tray at your door. When the weather is fine, it is also possible to have breakfast in our lovely garden.
- Car park
You can park your car in our garden at the parking-lot, free of charge. At night we will close the gate, so that it is pretty safe to park your car in our garden.

Fantastisch mooi huis. Je waant je echt in een oud hollandse woning. Anno 1900
Met het comfort van vandaag, een sfeervol slaapvertrek, zithoek, mooie doucheruimte.
Het ontbijt is supervers, en meer dan je op kan.
Er is een gemoedelijke sfeer, waardoor je je op je gemak voelt. Mijn man en ik zijn maar twee nachtjes geweest, volgende keer willen we wat langer van dit alles genieten.

Wat een fantastische plek. Het huis ziet er prachtig en verzorgd uit. Al tijdens de hartelijke ontvangst voel je je direkt thuis. De sfeer, kamer, omgeving, prachtige tuin waar je kunt ontbijten. De kamer is gezellig en kunt er koffie en thee zetten.
Ik wil de gastvrouw en heer bedanken voor een heel plezierig verblijf. Ik wil ook beslist terugkomen.
Kortom: Een echte aanrader!

Bijzonder sfeervol en goed verzorgd pand, aardige gastvrouw en gastheer, zalige tuin waarin de zitjes voldoende ruim uit elkaar staan. Gastheer en gastvrouw hebben een goede smaak en oog voor detail. Ze voelen wat gasten die op dit soort panden en tuinen vallen, waarderen. Voorbeeld: in de gang bij het fonteintje een paar bloeiende orchideeën, een glazen schaaltje met pepermuntjes, informatie over de omgeving, in de serre rondom goed verzorgde planten. (De bakjes cactussen op een plaats waar menigeen niets zou neerzetten; ze maken het geheel zeer zomers en vriendelijk) In de 'engelenkamer' op de schoorsteenmantel engelendoosjes met daarin pepermuntjes! En op de goed verzorgde theetafel verpakte chocolaadjes!
Het serviesgoed maakt de sfeer nog romantischer en gezelliger!
