When you hear Wim Sonneveld’s song “ het dorp : thuis heb ik nog een ansichtkaart waarop een kerk, een kar met paard ….(at home i have a postcard with a church , a horse and cart …)” you just get lost in sweat dreams …

In the Westhoek you can find plenty of these small quiet dozy villages and the village Westvleteren is one beautiful example of this.

At the village, square in the warm shadow of the Sint Martinus church, Het Heilig genot tries nothing more than to be a peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy.

The building, a former presbytery, with an English garden, has been fully renovated with respect of the past and with a sense for current comfort, into a country hotel that radiates peace and relaxation.

Nearby historical cities as Ieper, Veurne and Poperinge.

The sea, hills, the polders and “de schreve” (the Franco-Belgian border), all within easy reach without having to face traffic jams.

Our small hotel is your base for endless walks, bike tours and so much more …

In our cozy lounge you can share experiences with other guests or just be planning your next trip.

For lunch Sandie’s tearoom is at your disposal and for dinner advantageous arrangements have been agreed on with restaurants in the neighborhood. Free shuttle service is available upon demand.

Het Heilig genot does not take children under the age of 16 and is not suitable for pets, however for those families we are more then willing to suggest suitable accommodation nearby.

Non ci sono parole per descrivere questo hotel!!! Mi sono innamorata!!!
Si raggiunge con facilità in auto, offre il parcheggio gratuito chiuso da cancello, e il noleggio bici gratuito, l'hotel è meraviglioso, pulito, moderno, la stanza che abbiamo scelto noi è particolare sembra quella delle bambole con la tappezzeria rosa, il bagno è a vista senza porta e nel mezzo c'è una bellissima vasca. Fuori dalla stanza c'è un tavolino con dei dolcetti e la macchinetta per fare the caffè e cappuccino, gratuito! la colazione invece se si vuole fare è a pagamento. La proprietaria è adorabile, parla anche inglese, è molto gentile e disponibile, ci ha chiesto anche se volevamo prenotare un tavolo per cenare in un ristorante lì vicino, ma abbiamo preferito mangiare qualcosa nel bar/ristorante vicino all'abazia St. Sixtus, dove si può gustare la famosa Westvleteren 12. Girando in bici si può ammirare e apprezzare la natura e la quiete che avvolgono questo posto, peccato esserci stati sono un giorno, merita davvero.

We always wanted to visit the Sint-Sixtusabdij Westvleteren as they brew the best beer in the world. We searched for a hotel close to the brewery and we booked this hotel, as it's close by bike. When we arrived at the hotel, the welcoming was to extremely friendly. The room is very nice, with an open bathroom. The bikes are free, coffee and tea are free. The service is just incredible! We would definitely coming back in the future.

Hotel com quartos grandes, bem decorados. Banheiro e café da manhã excelentes! Donos do hotel são extremamente simpáticos e prestativos. Excelente hotel para tomar a lendária cerveja Westvleteren 12, considerada a melhor do mundo, no In de Vrede que fica em frente a abadia Saint Sixtus a 4 km.

We stayed here in July for two nights.
We were so happy about our stay that we came back end of august unfortunately only for 1 night.
Rooms are nice, beds are very comfortable. there are bathrobes and toileteries.( even toothpast and brush, shaving kit..) Step in shower in bathroom.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available on each floor ( nespresso), with cookies and cakes.
4 botlles of water in the fridge (complenantary).
breakfast was great, once served outside, with a lot of choice and eggs made to your choice.
Nice bar with a.o. beer from the region.
The host, Sandy, is very friendly and helpfull. shs really goes the extra mile for her clients. She even drives you to some selected restaurants at no extra cost.
Opposite the hotel you can buy drinks and coffee through vending machines.this place is part of the hotel and open till 10 PM.
When visiting Flanders Fields do not hesitate to book this wonderful hotel, you will not regret it.
We will back thats for sure.

Nous avons passé des très bon séjours chez Sandie, Ivann et Delphine.
L'accueil, la chambre, le petit déjeuner, tout fût hors normes. Qualité-prix on ne trouve pas mieux que le Heilig Genot.
La région est super jolie, il y a beaucoup de choses a voire et faire pour tout ages.
Nous allons certainement retourner à Ypres et environs et sûrement repasser des bonnes nuits au Heilig Genot
